DESCRIPTION:Join us for the artist’s reception\n6- 8PM\, Friday\, January 23\, 2026 \nKen Rumbaugh is a longtime sports artist\, and a new Minnesotan who has long loved Minnesota. He and his wife Emily moved to Minnesota from Portland\, OR in 2024… A very happy homecoming for Emily (originally from Grand Rapids\, MN) after 30 years on the west coast. \nSports and art have always been two of Ken’s great passions. He has spent the last few decades bringing them together to help tell stories too often untold. These passions have opened doors to collaborate with professional athletes\, franchises\, leagues\, and sports museums across the sports world. \nHis goal is simple: to honor the people who have inspired so many\, and use art as a way to spark conversation\, connection\, and community. He is especially excited for the opportunity to do so in his new community of North Minneapolis at the iconic Capri Theater. \nThis exhibit will be viewable January through February 2026

DESCRIPTION:Originally started by Comedian Pierre Douglas and later revamped by comedians Juice Sutton and Ashli Henderson\, Comedy Chaos is a local adaption of the hit show Wild N Out with a Twin Cities taste. \nThe show features two teams of comedians\, singers\, rappers and improvisers competing in various comedy challenges\, funny games\, including song battles and improv skits. The goal is to entertain the audience with witty\, humorous\, and often improvisational performances. Comedy Chaos is known for its energetic and hilarious atmosphere\, and focus on urban comedy and culture. \nThis show will feature Guest Captains and North Side Legends LA Buckner and Maya Marchelle. \nDoors Open 6:00pm\nShow Starts at 7:30pm

DESCRIPTION:The Red Light House is launching our biannual Short Film Fest “Queering Cinema” featuring LGBTQ+ filmmakers in and around the Twin Cities!\nThe first show will be held Saturday\, January 31\, 2026 at the Capri Theater in North Minneapolis. \nHave a film to submit??\nSubmission Deadline; Sunday\, January 4th \nWe believe that “Queering Cinema” isn’t just about showing films with Queer people in them\, but presenting a platform for Queer people to tell their stories\, their way. We do not require the filmmakers to submit films that are specifically about Queerness\, but we do require that each maker is from\, lives\, or works in Minnesota\, and identifies as LGBTQ+. We hope that these events will connect Queer filmmakers and Queer audience members alike.
