The Legacy Amendment is a constitutional amendment adopted by Minnesota voters in November of 2008. It raised the state sales tax by 3/8 of 1% for a period of 25 years and dedicated the earned revenue to clean water, parks, outdoor habitat, and arts and cultural heritage. A website was created by the Minnesota Legislature to help citizens monitor how funds from the Legacy Amendment are being used. On the Minnesota’s Legacy: watch the progress website you can see how funds are being invested across the state.

With support from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, the Capri has been able to continue its distinguished legacy of providing arts experiences and programming that supports working artists, community-convening, and relationship-building on the Northside and throughout the broader Twin Cities metro community.

Capri programs that incorporate teaching and performing artists include:

By implementing initiatives and creating spaces for artists to thrive, we directly contribute to the growth and success of working artists, nurturing a vibrant and resilient arts community.
