5pm | The Prelude:
Artisanal food stations, curated beverages, and the opening of our exclusive Silent Auction.

7pm | The Main Stage:
Music from the Capri Big Band, a spirited Live Auction, powerful success stories, and the presentation of the PCYC Lodestar Awards, honoring J.D. Steele and Janet Zahn.

8:30pm | The Late-Night Speakeasy:
The celebration continues in the Paradise Lounge. Indulge in gourmet desserts and dance the night away to the sounds of The Wolverines Jazz Band featuring vocalist Jennifer Grimm.


2026 PCYC Lodestar Award Recipients

J.D. Steele is a renowned composer, singer, and educator recently named the MMEA Community Music Educator of the Year. His expansive career ranges from arranging national jingles to performing on Broadway in The Gospel at Colonus. Alongside his siblings in the vocal group The Steeles, J.D. has earned every major Minnesota music award and collaborated with global icons like Prince and Mavis Staples. Dedicated to mentorship, he directs Capri Glee!, the MacPhail Community Youth Choir, and the Mill City Singers, using performance to foster character and community.

Janet Zahn brought a wealth of marketing and communications experience to PCYC and the Capri throughout her long tenure. Her background spanned leadership roles in television, production, and cultural arts management for the City of Minneapolis, as well as entrepreneurship as the owner of Camden Music School. A proud Northside resident and advocate for the arts, she served as PCYC’s lead storyteller and was an invaluable contributor to all of its operations.
