Three Nuyorican women are melting on their stoop in Spanish Harlem when Davia Johnson, a white grandmother from Iowa, shows up with her mixed-race grandson, Jesús, in tow after the death of his mother. They have come to NYC so that Jesús can experience the culture of his unknown Nuyorican father. They are embraced by a vibrant community: the three wise and warm Latina women over 50, a sharp-tongued young girl, and a charismatic gay man. Generational and cultural differences spark humorous conversation, striking revelations, and sexual transformations.
