We’re jump-starting the season with Mac Santiago and his Latin Soultet. A seasoned drummer and percussionist, rhythm runs deep through Mac Santiago’s Puerto Rican lineage. You’ll hear this expressed through this seven piece group’s spicy interpretations of traditional tunes and Latin Jazz favorites. Travel with us to a fiery tropical paradise, and prepare to be lured to your feet!
The Tommy Barbarella Jazz Ensemble
Sample This: A Tribute to Joe Sample, George Duke & Ramsey Lewis

A former member of the New Power Generation, Tommy Barbarella traveled the globe as a frontman with Prince. In Sample This, he pays homage to three of his greatest influences, Joe Sample, George Duke, and Ramsey Lewis — jazz greats who brought daring and soulful interpretations to classical jazz. You’ll be swept up by Barbarella’s monster piano chops and melodic genius in this special tribute.

Serving Up All Kinds of Flack

Pianist and noted “Songbird,” Roberta Flack, took the music scene by storm with many memorable hits including The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Killing Me Softly, and The Closer I Get to You. Her skillful and sweet piano playing were perfectly matched by her gentle vocals. For this Legends concert, Minnesota’s songbird, Aimee Bryant, evokes that same gentle style in a loving tribute to Ms. Roberta Flack.

Like a Sunday morning in a Saturday night juke joint, the BZ3 Organ Trio bring the soulful vibe of the Hammond B3 to an exciting, eclectic mix of jazz, blues, soul standards, and original tunes. A mainstay with us here at the Capri, this is a chance to experience the soulful artistry of Hammond B3 organist Brian Ziemniak, guitarist David Feily, and drummer Kevin Washington. Witness it!
