Join Appetite For Change at the Capri Theater for our video release of Bounce Back and Black Queens, a YTOP (Youth Training and Opportunity Program) grant-funded, retrospective video involving the youth who created Grow Food.
While filming for this project was scheduled to begin summer 2020, the pandemic and global uprising derailed plans. White Supremacists and outside interlopers threatened our youth-led West Broadway Farmers Market, resulting in the cancellation of the 2020 season.
In 2021, YTOP aimed to bring the farmers market back to North Minneapolis. Watch the story about how they “bounced back,” honored the Black Queens in their lives, and demonstrated resilience in the face of collective trauma.
