This film is based on the factual story of the French-Caribbean composer Joseph Bologne, aka Chevalier de Saint-Georges, the illegitimate son of an African enslaved and a French plantation owner, who rises to improbable heights in French society as a celebrated violinist-composer and fencer, complete with a love affair and falling out with Marie Antoinette. 

Kelvin Harrison Jr. stars as Chevalier, with Samara Weaving, Lucy Boynton, Marton Csokas, Alex Fitzalan, Minnie Driver, and Ronkẹ Adékoluẹjo.  Director: Stephen Williams.
