As we celebrate our community, our history, our culture and our roots we will gather on the weekend of June 14, 15 and 16 to celebrate Juneteenth 2024.
Juneteenth commemorates the date in 1865 when news of the emancipation of African American slaves reached Galveston, Texas.
The official name of the federal holiday is Juneteenth National Independence Day, also called Emancipation Day, Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Black Independence Day, and Juneteenth Independence Day.
This year is the SECOND YEAR that Juneteenth is a State Holiday in the State of Minnesota are we are thrilled to be bringing back the Northside Juneteenth Weekend Celebration for another year.
We will have a FREE Community Movie Night beginning at 6pm on Friday, June 14 at the Capri Theater in North Minneapolis. Join us!
