“Putney Swope” is a 1969 satirical comedy film directed by Robert Downey Sr., which follows the story of Putney Swope, the only black executive at an advertising agency who is unexpectedly elected chairman. The film critiques the advertising industry, race relations, and corporate corruption through its outrageous humor and surreal advertisements.
