Rebound, Inc., a community-based nonprofit working with systems-involved youth, is proud to announce the premiere screening of our Sankofa documentary film “Journey to Ghana.” This compelling film chronicles Rebound’s pilot Sankofa journey, a cultural heritage expedition that took youth on a transformative trip to Ghana, West Africa.
“Journey to Ghana” captures the essence of our 2023 Sankofa Fellowship, offering a poignant retelling of our exploration through Washington, D.C., Portugal, and the land of Ghana through a lens of growth and self-discovery.
Through captivating visuals and heartfelt narratives, the documentary showcases the profound impact of this cultural immersion experience.
Community members and partners are invited to join us for the premier along with a panel discussion featuring the youth participants to be held after the film.
Those in attendance will be invited to leverage their support as Rebound and Connections to Independence seek to take twice as many systems-involved Black youth on the journey in 2025.

Rebound is a grassroots, community-based, non-profit located in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was created to regain possession of the life trajectory of Black youth. Rebound, Inc. seeks to partner with the community in addressing the over-representation of Black youth in the juvenile justice system by leading the way in the innovation and provision of holistic, community-centered, education, advocacy, and rehabilitation solutions.
