Thomas Abban with L.A. Buckner

Due to rain, we’re moving Jazz on the Plaza indoors to the Paradise Community Hall – join us!

September 4, 5:30-7pm

Followed by our season launch of First Thursday Films at the Capri at 7pm

This Capri show for summer 2025 features White Boy Summer,  a band emerging as a daring force to be reckoned with.  Thomas Abban‘s mesmerizing guitar skills and infectious vocals merging with Arthur “L.A.” Buckner‘s thunderous drumming and soulful harmonies; this duo is here to take you on a sonic adventure like no other. These two premier artists from the Twin Cities dive headfirst into uncharted musical territory, exploring the entire spectrum of the African diaspora with reckless abandon. White Boy Summer fears no genre, no convention, and no judgment. With influences hailing from the soul stirring melodies of Nina Simone and Howlin’ Wolf to the innovative productions of Ye West and Lee Scratch Perry; “White Boy Summer” is the musical embodiment of all the things that come to mind when you hear that title. So, buckle up and get ready to surrender to this wild ride. It’s an adventure you won’t want to miss.
